Mineola High School Has 'Call Me Maybe' Flash Mob

Class of 2012 and 2013 members stage music video to Carly Rae Jepsen hit song.

It may have been well after the initial wave of imitators, but that has not stopped members of the Classes of 202 and 2013 at Mineola High School from staging their own production of Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit song “Call Me Maybe.”

The song, which is about a girl hoping to receive a telephone call from a boy she just met and the accompanying music video, has achieved viral status thanks to the efforts of lip-sync parodies performed by other pop artists as well as the U.S. Swim Team for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London that has been viewed over 10 million times.

In the Mineola version, which was posted on YouTube on Dec. 30, 2012, students from the classes of special education teachers Kathryn Haberman and Susan Palladino are seen performing in the hallways, nurse’s office and on the auditorium stage along with administrators including athletic director Ralph Armitrano, assistant principal Dr. Nicole Moriarty, principal Ed Escobar and superintendent Dr. Michael Nagler.
