Mineola High School Names Class of 2012 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Siobhan Adams and Zachary Englis named valedictorian and salutatorian of Class of 2012.

announces Siobhan Adams as the Class of 2012’s valedictorian and Zachary Englis as the class salutatorian.

Both students have driven themselves to excellence over the last 13 years and are fine examples of the well-rounded individuals who graduate from the Mineola School District.

Siobhan Adams has earned many awards and honors during her tenure at Mineola High School. This year alone she has been named an AP Scholar with Distinction, received a letter of commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and was honored with a Scholar-Artist Award of Merit.

The community may be most familiar with Siobhan’s voice, as she has performed the national anthem at many of our school functions and football games over the years. This year, Siobhan is serving as president of the Thespian Society, secretary of the Environmental Club, a member of the National Honor Society and a peer tutor.

Zachary Englis has made significant contributions to the school community, including serving as captain of the Varsity Cross Country team and a member of the Varsity Winter Track and Spring Track teams, receiving the Strive for Excellence awards and was Class A County Champion in Spring Track. Academically, Zachary was named an AP Scholar with Distinction and has excelled with the high school science research program.

Currently serving as vice president of the student organization, Englis is also a member of the National Honor Society, Environmental Club, Key Club and the yearbook committee.

Following with the district’s mission of contributing positively to a global society, Zachary is also well-known for his volunteerism.

Mineola High School congratulates both students, as well as who have strived for excellence these past 4 years.
