Mineola Schools Host 'Camp Invention' During Summer
A total of 80 students participate in two-week science enrichment camp.
The Mineola School District hosted a new program this summer known as Camp
Invention, for students in the English as a Second Language (ESL) program, as well as for any interested students in grades 1-6.
A total of 80 students took advantage of the program, which was a two-week science enrichment camp that challenged students’ problem solving abilities through fun and unique projects.
Rotating through various workshops in small groups with a high school intern, students learned about code breaking and reverse engineering and even built a clubhouse. Each day was filled with brainstorming, experimentation and hands-on action.
