Napolitano Named New School Board President

Hornberger voted vice-President of Mineola School Board.

During the call for nominations earlier in the meeting, a smiling Napolitano asked the question “what if I say no?” when voting was called.

“I’m very honored and privileged to serve as board president this year, particularly since it’s my last year as an official parent – my daughter will be graduating at the end of the year, she’ll be a senior this year – so it’s particularly bittersweet for me,” the new board president said. “I really do look forward to a productive year, hoping that we can put things behind us and look positively into the future.”

As the trustees rearranged their seating following the voting, Superintendent Dr. Michael Nagler commented wryly that the trustees “literally have to move over” to their new seats.
