No. 64 – Attend a School Board Meeting

Play a role in your child's education and learn about changes and advances in the school system.

On the third Thursday of each month, the holds its regular meetings that are open to the public.

Regardless of whether you still have children in the school system, these meetings give residents an opportunity to be a part of the decision making process. At the end of the meetings, residents are given the opportunity to address the board with concerns and issues. The board addresses the educational curriculum, oversees student policies and services in addition to goals and objectives for administration.

If you are unable to attend the meetings the agenda is usually posted on the district website and the Mineola Patch highlights the important points as well.
