Patch Talk Back: Corruption Mistrial

What do you think of the outcome?

On Monday,  were convicted of felonies in a corruption trial involving a plot to steer a New Cassel redevelopment toward a preferred developer in exchange for money. 

Justice Alan Honorof declared a mistrial on 17 remaining counts of bribery, conspiracy and miscounduct, the Nassau County District Attorney's Office said. 

 were all on trial. Both Corbin and Williams are former Nassau County legislators, while Mullings is the fomer head of the North Hempstead Community Development Agency.

Newsday reports that attorneys will seek to clear the names of their clients through legal means. 

Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice said in a statement that the three had "abused their positions to steal this project from the people of New Cassel for their own personal gain."
