Sandy Aftermath Closes Chaminade and Mineola Schools Through Wednesday

Schools still without power and will stay closed through October 31.

For many students getting Halloween off from school will be a real treat, but it will seem like a cruel trick fro administrators and teachers.

The impact of Hurricane Sandy will still be felt on Wednesday in Mineola as both Chaminade High School and the entire Mineola School District will remain closed thanks to the damage the storm has wrecked on the area, felling trees and severing power to the entire area.

Notices of the closure were posted on both the Chaminade and Mineola School district websites on Tuesday afternoon, a feat considering that there was no power in the area and to neither Chaminade nor the other school buildings.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
