Slight Increase in 2013-14 State Aid for Mineola Schools

Mineola schools estimated to receive $57,178 more in aid.

The New York State Department of Education released its preliminary district aid estimates for 2013-14 last week. A total of $20.81 billion was recommended statewide, a year-to-year funding increase of $610.30 million or 3.02 percent.

Mineola Public Schools will receive a 1.13 percent increase in state aid from last year, a $57,178 increase.

For the 2012-13 year the district received $5,058,615. For the 2013-14 academic year, it is estimated to receive $5,115,793.

In 2012-13 the district in building aid, which is aid that is owed to the district. Without the building aid, the increase falls to $26,253, or a .58 percent increase.
