Workshops for New Mineola School Report Cards Scheduled

Workshops for parents of Mineola students set for October.

The Mineola School District will be holding a series of workshops to better educate parents of students on the new school report cards being put in place this year.

In order to better align with the new common core learning standards, the district established the new standards-based report cards for students in grades pre-K-6.

In conjunction with parental input, a committee of teachers worked last spring to create progress indicators aligned with the common core anchor standards in English Language Arts, common core math standards and next generation science standards.

The new report cards will be distributed every trimester rather than every quarter and are designed to be more informative than the previous format.
