Bulva, Roulis and Truss Selected for Grand Slam Challenge

Chaminade and Mineola seniors will play in annual high school baseball all-star game June 10.

Two players from and one from have been selected to play in this year's RTC Rawlings Grand Slam Challenge.

Mineola firstbaseman and pitcher Jimmy Bulva will join Chaminade secondbaseman Tom Roulis and pitcher Eric Truss in Friday’s game which pins the best in Nassau against the top players in Suffolk at Farmingdale State College at 7 p.m.

Ken Sicoli from East Meadow High School will coach the Nassau team while Patchogue-Medford's Anthony Frascogna will coach the Suffolk team.

This year, some of Nassau's top players include South Side's James Howard (Rockville Centre); Wantagh's Ryan Sliwak; Garden City’s James Cauchi; Division's John Cruz and Sean Abbate (Levittown); and Mike Manganiello and Kevin Monahan of Island Trees (Levittown).
