Former basketball center Richard Zoller was named as the East Coast Conference’s NCAA Div-II men’s basketball rookie of the week for February 13.
Zoller amassed two straight double-double performances for the Molloy Lions last week, netting 12 points Wednesday night against Bridgeport, shooting .545 (6-for-11) shooting from the field. He also grabbed 10 rebounds, one assist, a steal and one block.
Saturday, the 6’8” forward bested his numbers from Wednesday, as he drained 19 points on .643 (9-for-14) shooting from the field in a win over NYIT. He brought down 12 boards and had three blocks in the process.
Molloy (5-8, 8-15) is currently sixth in the conference and will host Dowling College at at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
