But Flyer forward James McCaffrey came back two possessions later with a baseline drive for two of his 12 points, and then guard Matthew Gonyon, who scored 10 points, stole the ball on Lincoln's next possession and took it the distance for a lay-in. Chaminade ended the first half with a bucket by Zoller, who scored after Sheehy grabbed a defensive rebound then found Zoller on the opposite end. Chaminade led 39-22 at the half.

Quinn said that the teams distribution was key to building the lead in the first half. "Our passing was good, we passed the ball well tonight."

In the third quarter, Chaminade exploded on the offense end of the ball, scoring 29 points and making six three's. The Flyers went on a 13-4 run at the beginning of the period, with a bulk of the points coming on three three's in three consecutive possessions for the Flyers, with Gonyon getting two and Sheehy scoring one. Gonyon and Sheehy each added another three in the period to make the Chaminade lead 68-35.

In the fourth, Chaminade started with a basket by McCaffrey, and then he assisted on the next two baskets. Forward Bryan Beabrun came off the bench and played a solid fourth quarter, registering eight points in about six minutes of play. Chaminade ended the game with an 8-0 run.

While the Flyers were dominant on offense, Quinn also said the team played solid on the defensive end. "We played the passing lanes well," Quinn said, adding that "I tell them to deny every pass," and "our pressure defense was really good."
