Nicholas Falco extended the lead on a power play goal with assists from Matt Scarpato and junior Kyle Irwin, who had 3 points in the victory. “It should give us a lot of momentum and it should give us a boost for tomorrow,” Irwin said. “We’re feeling a little better about ourselves now that we have a couple of wins.”

Matt Scarpato scored his own goal at 8:03 of the third period, collecting his second assist of the game when he helped Nicholas Falco net his second at 7:44.

Flyer’s goalie Tommy Dorsey missed what would have been his  when Holy Cross’ Alan Mook finished a pass from Anthony Pagano and scored at 6:50 of the third. Despite the wide margin, Chaminade held only a one shot advantage (20-19) over the Knights.

“It was sloppy and in a game like that we had the opportunity to hold the puck and make the right passes, and we just didn’t do it. We should have been making plays and we gave the puck up more than we made a play,” Bendl said. “We’ll play a really good St. Joe’s team tomorrow having formed some really bad habits.”

CROSS CHECK: The Flyers have another quick turnaround as they play  in Mount Vernon, NY. Chaminade will play Holy Cross again .
