Flyers Tennis Routs St. Mary's 7-0

Chaminade continues to coast in their second match of the season.

The Flyers notched their this season Friday against St. Mary’s, defeating their respective opponents 6-0, 6-0 in singles and downing the Gaels 7-0 in match play.

The only competitive match was on the first singles court where J.T Esposito outlasted the Gaels’ Chris Cassmissa 6-0, 6-4.

“He is our strongest player,” Chaminade head coach Jim Quinn said of Esposito. “As a senior he will help lead this team through the season.”

Esposito was steady from the backcourt beating Cassmissa on numerous baseline rallies and came to net at the right times putting the ball away with crisp volleys.

“We are still not completely set on our positions but will have a pretty good idea by the end of next week,” Quinn said.

The Flyers will host conference headliner St. Anthony’s on Monday at Tully Park at 3:30 p.m.
