Former Flyer Ferranti Joins Hofstra for 2012 Season

Outfielder led Chaminade in hits, stolen bases and outfield assists.

Still fresh off the , outfielder Michael Ferranti will be putting on the uniform of the Hofstra Pride for the 2012 season.

Ferranti joins the roster along with four other student-athletes who signed letters of intent over the summer to play for the Pride, including three California players.

“With the addition of these five student-athletes, combined with the three we signed in the fall, we feel that we have solidified our team,” Hofstra Coach Patrick Anderson said. “As a staff, we feel that we have filled all of our needs and that we have a strong overall team.”

Ferranti, a Rockville Centre native, garnered second team All-Long Island status during his senior year at , batting .360 and leading the Flyers in hits, stolen bases and outfield assists.

“Michael brings some speed to the outfield,” Anderson said. “He is a plus outfielder with a knack and ability to get to the ball. He is versatile and can play all three outfield positions.”
