Four Chaminade Lacrosse Players Named 2013 All-Americans

Brian Dunne, Daniel Fowler, Ryan Lukacovic and Tom Zenker among 10 Long Islanders on Under Armour Lax All-American Boys North team.

Chaminade High School varsity lacrosse goalie Daniel Fowler, defender Brian Dunne, attacker Ryan Lukacovic and midfielder Tom Zenker were all recently named to the 2013 Under Armour Lax All-American Boys North team.

The four Flyers will play along with the other 18 members of the team under Manhasset coach Bill Cherry against the members of the south team in the sixth annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic at Towson University in Maryland on July 6.

Ten of the 22 overall players chosen from the list are from Long Island.

This year the Flyers went 15-2, winning the NSCHSAA championship game against arch-rival St. Anthonys.

Lukacovic, a Syosset native, had 36 goals and 33 assists in the 2013 season and will be attending the University of Virginia. Dunne, a defender from Melville who will be attending Duke, had 3 assists and 34 groundballs in 2013. Fowler, who is from Wantagh and also will attend Duke, had 107 saves in net this year for the Flyers. Zenker, another Melville resident who will play for the Blue Devils next year, had 29 goals, 9 assists and 32 grounders in 2013.
