Mineola Basketball 2010-11 Playoff Primer

Here's the schedule and the matchups for the opening rounds:

Boys’ Basketball

Thursday the Mineola boys varsity basketball team will face off   at 5 p.m. in the first round of the Nassau Class A playoffs. The 10-7 Mustangs (7-3, conference) have not matched up against the Jayhawks, who also hold a 10-7 overall record, and finished third in the A-I conference with an 8-4 record.

Should the boys advance, they either travel to top-seed Manhasset or host New Hyde Park at home on Monday, Feb. 21.

The semi-finals will be held on Friday, Feb. 25 with the Finals slated for March 5.

Girls’ Basketball

The Lady Mustangs also enter the 2010-11 playoffs as the No. 8 seed with a 14-3 overall record, and 8-2 in the A-IV conference and will  (10-7, 7-5) on Friday at home at 4:30 p.m.

If the girls get past the first round, they would either face A-1 conference champ Levittown Division (16-1, 11-1) away on Feb. 22 or host No. 16 seed Valley Stream North, who the Lady Mustangs  in two games this season.

The semi-finals will be held on Tuesday, March 1 with the Finals slated for March 5.
