Mineola native and Holy Trinity Varsity basketball head coach Joe Conefry was recognized by the NSCHSAA Basketball League and named NSCHSAA League Coach of the Year for the 2012-13 season.
“It is an honor to be named the NSCHSAA coach of the year,” Conefry said in a statement. “I am very fortunate to have great playerswho work very hard as well as a great coaching staff. This award is a testament to the tremendous support of the entire Holy Trinity community.”
The Titans made it to the NSCHSAA championship game against Chaminade where they were defeated by the Flyers 85-64.
Hicksville-based Holy Trinity High School is a private, co-educational Catholic high school founded in 1966 drawing students from Nassau, Suffolk and Queens counties.
