Mineola Fourth of July Fireworks Guide 2013

Flashes of red, white, and blue will fill the skies over Long Island for the Fourth of July.

Even with the loss of the famed Dolan fireworks display on the North Shore, there are plenty of other opportunities to view spectacular shows in and around our area. Check out the map above for fireworks displays in Oyster Bay and across Long Island.

Here are the displays happening in our area:

Host: Morgan Memorial Park
Time: July 4, 9:15 p.m.
Location: Germaine Street, off western end of Landing Road, Glen Cove, NY
Details: Grab a spot in Morgan Park and look at the Glen Cove skies as they light up with one of Grucci's many legendary displays.

Host: Mineola Memorial Park
Time: July 5, 8 p.m.
Location: Jackson Avenue and Marcellus Road, Mineola
Details: Concert in the Park at 8 p.m. in Mineola Memorial Park featuring the Nassau Pops, fireworks to begin immediately after.

: Asharoken Village
Time: July 4, 9:15 p.m.
Location: Long Island sound side of Asharoken Avenue (barge)
Details: Asharoken has contracted the famous Grucci Fireworks for their annual July 4 fireworks display launched from a barge in Long Island Sound. Northport's Crab Meadow Beach is the best viewing spot although parking is limited and fills up quickly. The fireworks will be launched from a barge on the sound side of Asharoken Avenue and will begin at 9:15 p.m. The rain date is July 5.

Time: July 6, 9:30 p.m.
Location: Garvies Point, Glen Cove, NY 11542
Details: A day at the Sea Faire Festival in Glen Cove ends with a bang as Grucci presents a fireworks display.
