Mineola Kiwanis Club Inducts New Member

Indiana native-turned Mineola resident wanted to give back to his new community.

Albert Redmond grew up 750 miles from Mineola, but the Indianapolis native feels at home now and wanted to give back to his adopted community in some way.

He chose to put his efforts behind in Mineola to further its legacy.

Redmond was the lone person installed as a new member at the group’s meeting at the Williston Park IHOP on the morning of June 18. Arlindo Cunha, a Legion of Honor member of Kiwanis, sponsored Redmond.

As he accepted his pin, Redmond told members that he was “proud to be in a room of such influential people,” and he “looked forward to contributing in whatever way to the future of Kiwanis.”
