The mission of the Jewish Association for Services for the Aged (JASA) is to "sustain and enrich" the lives of seniors in the New York tri-state area so that they can remain in their chosen community for as long as they desire and live as independently as possible. Founded in June, 1958, JASA provides services for the senior citizen including organizing and space management within the home and housekeeping, help with medicines and doctor's visits, meal programs, legal advice, social programs for Alzheimer's patients and even pet care. Services are provided following a meeting with an assigned social worker who meets with the senior citizen to determine what services are necessary.
