A dual-purpose building, the Mineola Village Hall hosts both the village offices on one side and a community center onMore the other.  Situated directly across from the village fire department on Washington Avenue, the two-story building was constructed in 1945. The western half of the building contains a gymnasium and several multi-purpose rooms in addition to the offices of the recreation department.

The two-story building was completed in 1945 and sits across from the <!-- name: fire department on Washington Avenue. This structure is also home to the office of the Village Recreation Department.
New York State Insurance Department

The New York State Insurance Department office is located on the ground floor of this huge brickface building thatMore dominates the Western block of Mineola Boulevard between Cleveland Avenue and Harrison Avenue. The primary role of the office is to license insurance agents and brokers as well as approve all policies in the state, but it also handles complaints and fraud alleged by consumers. The office is located to the immediate right after entering the building, just in front of the staircase leading to the second floor.  Packets and brochures are available for many different types of insurance, including health, Medicare, hurricane, flood and auto.  Two interview rooms are also on premises where consumers can meet with department representatives. The department also assists Holocaust survivors and their heirs in resolving outstanding insurance claims.
Mineola Fire Department

The headquarters of the Mineola Fire Dept. was built in 1923 and the original home of Fire Company No. 3. The two-storyMore brick headquarters was enlarged during a renovation in 1962 and again in 2000 to add two engine bays, bringing the total to six. The main bays of the headquarters open onto Washington Ave., directly across the street from Village Hall. The front of the building along Jericho Turnpike features a side entrance to the headquarters just beyond an alarm bell and a small statue dedicated to those who have served in the MFD.
Winthrop University Hospital

One of the major hospitals on Long Island, Winthrop University Hospital was first founded in 1896 as Nassau HospitalMore in West Hempstead before moving to Mineola in 1900.</p> <p>The hospital has been at the forefront of healthcare on Long Island, opening the area's first social services department, cardiac research laboratory, the first regional diabetes education center and the first to offer same-day surgery.</p> <p>Winthrop is also the site of Long Island's regional poison control center, and its cardiac surgery program has been ranked as one of the top in New York State.</p> <p>While still considered one hospital, several of Winthrop's offices and specific care centers are spread out in the surrounding area among different buildings.  The entrance to the six-story main building is on First Street, while the emergency room and ambulatory entrance is around the corner on Second Street.</p> <p>An independent network, Winthrop's affiliates include Massapequa General Hospital and Mid-Island Hospital.</p>
