A one-story brick structure, the school is one of five elementary schools in the Mineola district. The school educates students in grades one through five.</p> <p>A large field is located in the rear of the school, complete with a softball field, several playgrounds and a basketball court.</p> <p>The school was also named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Education Department in 2004.</p>

The Mineola School District is a Pre-K through 12th grade school district, encompassing parts of the communities of…More Mineola, Albertson, Williston Park, Garden City Park and Roslyn Heights within the district boundaries.  There are four elementary schools in the district: Willis Avenue, Meadow Drive, Hampton Street and Jackson Avenue, as well as a middle school and high school.</p> <p>The district administrative offices are housed on the second floor of the Willis Avenue School.  The main entrance to the administration offices can be found in the back of the school just off the entrance to the rear parking lot from Jackson Avenue.</p>
