Meadow Drive School

The Northernmost school in the Mineola district, Meadow Drive School is actually located in Albertson off of I.U.More Willets Road. A one-story brick structure, the school is one of five elementary schools in the Mineola district. The school educates students in grades one through five.

A large field is located in the rear of the school, complete with a softball field, several playgrounds and a basketball court.

The school was also named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Education Department in 2004.

Hampton Street School

One of the Mineola School District's five elementary schools, Hampton Street School is located in a somewhatMore secluded area in a residential neighborhood just off of Roslyn Road. The two-story brick structure is surrounded by green space and several playgrounds around the property and educates students in grades one through five.

The school is unique in that the large backfield located at the school is also used by the Mineola football team for practices.

Mineola Union Free School District

The Mineola School District is a Pre-K through 12th grade school district, encompassing parts of the communities ofMore Mineola, Albertson, Williston Park, Garden City Park and Roslyn Heights within the district boundaries.  There are four elementary schools in the district: Willis Avenue, Meadow Drive, Hampton Street and Jackson Avenue, as well as a middle school and high school.

The district administrative offices are housed on the second floor of the Willis Avenue School.  The main entrance to the administration offices can be found in the back of the school just off the entrance to the rear parking lot from Jackson Avenue.

Mineola Middle School

Originally built in 1923 as the district high school, the Mineola Middle School was created in 1962 and houses gradesMore five through seven. Situated on a large square block along Emory Road, it is in-between Jackson and Garfield avenues.

Some of the remnants of the original high school still remain, such as the Greco-Roman carved letters depicting separate entrances for boys & girls, as well as designations for the gymnasium and cafeteria wings. You can also find the words "high school" inscribed above the main entrance.

The school features a large field to the north, just off of Jackson Avenue (featuring two softball fields), as well as plenty of green space in the front and rear of the building. One of the most unique features inside the school is the aquarium located near the school offices. It is stocked with a colorful array of exotic fish.
