Adrian was born and raised in East Meadow, NY where he presently lives and works as a Correction Officer for the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department. He attended Kellenberg Memorial High School and Nassau Community College where he studied Criminal Justice. Adrian first answered the call of volunteering in 1997, when he followed in his brother’s footsteps and joined Engine 1 of the East Meadow Fire Department. His career was cut short just after a year of service due to family obligations, but he never lost that desire to his community. Shortly thereafter in 1999, he began his career in law enforcement with the sheriff’s department and over the past twelve years has continued to grow, both in his professional and civic life. Adrian has and continues to be involved in many events, charitable groups and organizations. In 2005, Adrian became a member of Spartan Lodge #956 F&AM located in Baldwin, NY. The year 2009 marks a major milestone for him. He co-founded the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department Columbia Association, a 501 c (3) non-for-profit organization of Italian American Police/Peace officers and civilian staff. Their mission statement is to help those less fortunate in the community, promote the spirit of brotherhood, and to increase cultural awareness while fostering a keen understanding of an individual’s responsibilities as a community member. In this organization Adrian held office as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He quickly progressed up to the executive board into the position of Secretary. Currently he sits as the 1st Vice President of the Columbia Association, which has become the largest fraternal organization within the Sheriff’s Department. Along with being a founding father of the Columbia Association, he became an active member of the National Council of Columbia Association’s in Civil Service, Inc. Founded in 1959 as the National Council of Columbia Associations the Core groups were Civil Service in nature and tended to serve those groups in Federal, State and City Governments. That same year he became an active civic member of the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce. In 2010, he assisted the President of the Chamber with many projects to promote East Meadow and local businesses. He continued to foster business interest and community responsibility, as well as support them in creating a voice in government decision making. In 2011, he was elected as a Board of Director for the Nassau County Sheriff Officers Association (ShOA), the union which represents over 1000 Correction Officers who are currently employed by the Sheriff’s Department. Adrian states, “My strong family values and connection to East Meadow resonate from knowing the sacrifices which my mother and father endured for me and my brothers. The way my father struggled when he came to this country made me appreciate where I live and all that my community has to offer. This is why I am extremely passionate about giving back to the community and keeping its businesses alive and thriving. I believe I live in the best town in Nassau County.”
