Alessandra Malito, Neighbor

I grew up in Fresh Meadows, Queens for most of my life and moved to Long Island when I was a freshman in high school. It's here on Long Island where I started my journalism career and really let it grow. When it was time for college, I knew I wanted to stay home so I applied to Stony Brook University for their impressive journalism program and was accepted. I have been continuining to grow while there thanks to the wonderful and experienced professors and the classes that they teach. I am the Assistant News Editor for The Statesman, an award-winning on-campus publication, where I have done in-depth month-long research on the closing of the Southampton campus and a breaking news story that involved six fire departments and a hazmat team. I'm constantly running around and very energetic, and I have been known to keep productive.

Aside from my work, I love to spend my time with my family, my dogs and my best friends.
