Andrew McClure has resided in the East Rockaway/Bay Park area for most of his life. His first exposure to small town newspapers was reading the weekly East Rockaway Observer. The paper was published by Mr. & Mrs. Warner, who gave the Rock that Mayberry feel that it still has to this day. Freelance writing has been in Andrew's blood for a decade. He sees high school athletics as a big piece of Americana, and one of the purest forms of competition. He has tremendous passion for human interest stories, especially those that make the reader think, cry, or laugh out loud.
Andrew is a fan of the Mets, Nets, Islanders, Giants, Browns, Buckeyes, and, of course, the East Rockaway Rocks. His favorite authors are Ken Follett and Pat Conroy, and he has read The Catcher in the Rye about 100 times.
