Mineola Fire Department Officers Sworn In for 2013

Chief Jeffrey Clark, asst chiefs Joe Pratt and Brian Santosus begin third year in offices.

On Monday April 8, members of the Mineola Fire Department conducted their annual officer installation ceremony at fire department headquarters on Washington Avenue.

Mayor and ex-Chief Scott Strauss administered the oath of office to the company officers, wardens and junior fire department officers. The mayor then called upon First Assistant Chief Joseph Pratt and Second Assistant Chief Brian Santosus to be sworn in to their new year in their respective offices as their families stood by.

Chief Jeffrey Clark was the final officer to be sworn in and was joined by members of his family.

Clark has served as a member of the department for the past 16 years. He previously served as lieutenant for four years and as captain from 2007-09. He was named as second assistant chief in July 2009 and has until his election to chief of department, served as first assistant chief. 

Clark was honored with the 2011 Town of Hempstead Firematic Award and also serves on the department’s grant committee to secure funding for fire equipment.

Professionally, Clark is an employee of Cablevision, serving as director of government affairs.
