VIDEO: Former Resident Turned Author Takes “Last Walk” Down Memory Lane
Five decades after growing up in WIlliston Park and Mineola, author Ron Baumbach recalls life.
In 1959, Ron Baumbach was a 10 year-old boy growing up in Williston Park and the surrounding area of Mineola with his family.
He and his friends would play all day, come home for dinner and then go back out to play. There were no cell phones or video games; his family only had one T.V. Baumbach's childhood is a lot different from the childhoods children today exerience.
In his book, “The Last Walk on Our Block,” Baumbach recounts his memories, mostly between the years of 1959 and 1969.
