61 WARM Girl Scouts Receive Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards

Girl scouts from Williston Park, East Williston, Albertson, Roslyn and Mineola receive awards.

On September 7, Girl Scouts of the WARM Association held their Annual Bronze, Silver and Gold Award Ceremony at the Mineola Community Center.

The WARM Association encompasses all of the Girl Scout Troops in the Williston Park, East Williston, Albertson, Roslyn, & Mineola communities.

To earn these awards, each of the scouts must go above and beyond the normal troop activities and spend additional hours completing a project with lasting impact.

The Bronze Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior in grade 4 or 5 can achieve; the Silver Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout Cadet in grade 6, 7 or 8 can earn and the Gold Award represents the highest achievement in all of Girl Scouting, only given to Girl Scout Seniors or Ambassadors in grades 9 to 12 and challenges girls to change the world-or at least their corner of it.

Each successive award level requires a larger commitment of individual time, effort, and impact of their project.

The WARM Association was honored to have each of the local representatives take time out of their busy schedules to honor each of these girls and to present them individually with personalized certificates from each office. The association also expressed its thanks to the Village of Mineola for allowing use of the community center for the ceremony.
