FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK 

1. 

Where/When: , Saturday, March 5 at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.

Why Go: Returning for the 9th year are the performers from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus for a dazzling display of circus artistry that will astound and amuse! Led by a contingent of comedic clowns, this is a sneak peek of circus fun as The Greatest Show On Earth gets ready to return to Long Island! Tickets are limited and can be obtained at the LICM Box Office on a first come, first serve basis. 

Pricing: Free with museum admission ($10 for adults and children over 1 year old, $9 seniors, free to museum members and children under 1 year old).

Where/When: , Sat. March 5 at 2 p.m.

Why Go: The Mineola Library will feature students of The Donny Golden School of Irish Dancing in a spirited and colorful performance. These multi-talented students will entertain you with their program of traditional Irish step dances accompanied by songs and lively Celtic tunes.

3. Chaminade Varsity Swimming: NYS HS Championships

Where/When: Eisenhower Park Aquatic Center, Saturday, March 5. Warm up 8 to 9:40 a.m.; Diving Finals 10 a.m.; Swim Warm up 10:45 to 11:40 a.m.; Swimming Finals 12 Noon

Why Go: New York State high school championships. Perfect for children and families who love sports or are interested in exposing kids to the athletic world.

Where/When:  , Sunday, March 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The Amazing Nano Brothers Juggling Show has performances at 1 and 3 p.m.

Why Go: Try fun experiments that explore the science of the super small! NanoDays is a nationwide educational project focused on nano-scale science and engineering sponsored by the NISE Network (Nanoscale Informal Science Education). From buckyballs to waterproof sand, check out this fascinating new science! Fun for all ages.

The Nano Brothers Juggling Show is a comedy all about the mysteries of matter — including atoms, molecules, and nanotechnology. Virtuoso jugglers Dan Foley and Joel Harris provide a comic and unforgettable introduction to atoms, molecules and nanoscale forces; while juggling everything from baseball bats to potted plants. Who knew physics could be this fun? Ages 3 and up.

Pricing: NanoDay activities are free with museum admission ($10 for adults and children over 1 year old, $9 seniors, free to museum members and children under 1 year old).

The Nano Brothers Juggling Show is $4 with museum admission ($3 LICM members), $8 theater only.

Why Go: It offers lots of fun for kids and adults at reasonable prices. 

Pricing: Single person is $4.20 a game plus $4.35 for shoes.
