1. Smuckers Stars on Ice

Where/When: Nassau Coliseum, Friday, April 1 at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: This 25th Anniversary Tour brings out such skating stars and Olympic medalists as Evan Lysacek, Michael Weiss, Joannie Rochette, Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman and Jamie Sale and David Pelletier among others.

Pricing: $28.50 and up

Where/When: , Saturday, April 2 at 9 a.m.

Why Go: The Garden City Teachers’ Association is hosting its 2nd Annual “GC For A Cure” walk/run to benefit Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Pricing: Entry Fees: Adult – $25 ($30 on race day) for 5k timed race; Adult – $15 ($20 on race day) for 1.5 mile untimed race; Child (12 and Under) – $20 ($25 on race day)  for 5k timed race; Child – $10 ($15 on race day) for 1.5 mile untimed race.

 3. Children’s Workshop: Getting Ready to Plant a Garden

Where/When: Clark Botanic Garden, Saturday, April 2 from 10 - 11:30 a.m.

Why Go: Kids will participate in a hands-on workshop and tour the Garden. Preregistration is required. Ages: 7-11.

Pricing: $25

Where/When: The Long Island Children’s Museum. Saturday, April 2 at 1 and 3 p.m. see ; Sunday, April 3 at 1 and 3 p.m. the “” continues the countdown to the kids’ film fest and from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday honor Earth Day by making earth friendly crafts in .

Why Go: The Long Island Children’s Museum is always a favorite spot for the kids. There are always lots of fun and exciting events happening.

Pricing: The Silly Dilly Band and Tales of Humor is $4 with museum admission ($3 LICM members) and $8 for theatre only; Our Changing World is $3 with museum admission ($2 LICM members).

5. 

Where/When: Nassau Coliseum, Saturday, April 2 from 3 to 9:30 p.m.; Registration is from 3 to 3:45 p.m.; Walk starts at 4 p.m. and gametime is 7 p.m.

Why Go: After walking together around the Coliseum to raise funds for local disaster relief on Long Island, participants will be able to soak in the action as the Islanders take on the Carolina Hurricanes! Every registered walker receives a ticket to that night’s game. A t-shirt goes to all who raise $10 or more.

Pricing: Registration: $30 in advance; $35 day of the event

Where/When: , Sunday, April 3 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Why Go: Games, Favors, Storytime, Lunch, Treats, Characters, and Fun! Provincial French atmosphere...nutritional lunch...be our guest! Please wear your favorite costume.
