Mineola Lawyer Receives 2012 New York State Bar Award

Christopher T. McGrath named recipient of award for attorney professionalism.

Christopher T. McGrath, a partner in the Mineola-based law firm of Sullivan Papain Block McGrath & Cannavo, has been named as the 2012 recipient of the New York State Bar Association’s Award for Professionalism.

The prestigious award, sponsored by the bar association’s committee on attorney professionalism, recognizes a New York State Bar member who displays the “highest standards of professionalism, commitment to promoting respect for the legal system, outstanding ethical conduct, competence, good judgment, integrity and civility.”

Christopher McGrath has been listed in Super Lawyers magazine and New York Magazine as one of the top attorneys in New York and was named by Best Lawyers in America as one of the top 500 personal injury attorneys in America.

A former president of the Nassau County Bar Association, McGrath has been a member of the Grievance Committee for the 10th Judicial District, was appointed to the New York State Judicial Screening Commission and is currently the Chair of the Nassau County Bar Association Judicial Screening Committee. He is also a member of the Committees on Character and Fitness for the Second Judicial Department.

McGrath graduated cum laude from St. John’s University, receiving his law degree from the University of Dayton (Ohio) School of Law. He resides in Hewlett with his family.
