Portuguese Secretary of State Visits Mineola

Dr. Teresa Morais scheduled to speak at United Nations this week.

Portuguese Secretary of State Dr. Teresa Morais recently joined the Daughters of Portugal for a brunch at the Jericho Terrace in Mineola during her trip to the United States this week.

She was accompanied by Maria Joao Avila, a member of the Portuguese Parliament for Portuguese Citizens Residing Abroad.

This is not the first time that a representative from Portugal has visited the village as in 2000, then-Portuguese President Jorge Sampaio paid a visit on the behest of then-Gov. George Pataki.
