Through the use of photographs, original documents, memorabilia and objects, the exhibition tells the stories of William and Kate Hofstra, the University Presidents, students, faculty and staff. Included are anecdotes and descriptions of events that many will have forgotten such as: Who were the founding sisters of Alpha Theta Beta? Who were James Barnard, George Williams and Olive Plunkett? Why was the 1956 football team called the Tiny Twenty? What was the concept behind Aymar Embury's design of the campus?

The exhibition is on view in the Hofstra University Museum's David Filderman Gallery on the ninth floor of the Joan and Donald E. Axinn Library, on Hofstra's South Campus. A curator's talk and reception will take place on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 4 p.m. in the David Filderman Gallery.
