Entenmann’s Mineola Bakery Outlet to Close in August

Thrift store will be moving to new location.

The Entenmann’s Bakery Outlet in Mineola is set to close in August.

Many Mineola residents had been wondering about the status of the bakery outlet as the thrift store’s loading docks had been noticeably empty in the past few weeks. An inspection of the thrift store on Thursday revealed several shelves were not being restocked.

The thrift store, located on the northeast corner of Jericho Turnpike and Roslyn Road, was once the site of a former car dealership but was converted into a bakery outlet several decades ago. Signs and awnings that adorn the building have become broken and tattered and have not been repaired for some time.
Entenmann’s is owned by Bimbo Bakeries, USA, a division of Mexico-based Groupo Bimbo and is the largest bakery in the country. Other brands include Arnold, BallPark, Sara Lee, Freihofers and Thomas’.

After several inquiries, Bimbo Bakeries USA stated that “the Mineola thrift store will be re-locating in August to a new nearby location. We are in the process of finalizing our lease for the new site.”

The exact location of the new store was not released. The exact closing date of the Mineola store was not announced.

It is not known what store – if any – would move into the bakery outlet property.
