LaunchPad Holding Start-Up Workshop for College Students

Mineola business letting college students pitch ideas for new businesses.

Mineola-based business incubator LaunchPad Long Island will be hosting a day-long workshop/ business pitch competition on Saturday, March 9 specifically geared at the college crowd.

The 12-hour event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and is sponsored by CollegeStartup.org, allows college-aged students to compete for a $1,000 cash prize.

The competition involves creating a viable business idea either from scratch or as part of a team consisting of between 3-7 people who will then present that idea in a sales pitch to a panel of business professionals. All attendees do not need to pitch an idea as teams will be formed around the student’s interest in working on start-up concepts.
