Vacant Funtabulous Boutique in Mineola [POLL]

What would you like to see fill the vacant space left by the children’s clothing store?

Sandwiched between on the right and , a designer men’s clothing store on the left, the children’s clothing store  at 84 Main Street would seem to be in a desired spot among apparel retailers.

But while Fox’s continues to draw crowds at its vast two-store women’s clothing store, a “For Lease” sign hung outside the vacant Funtabulous Boutique on Sunday.

Funtabulous, which opened in October 2009, offered fashion for babies and tots, including high-end clothing, accessories, shoes and furniture for infants, toddlers and young children.

Its grand opening was hailed as a success according to Funtabulous’ Facebook page; but 2 years hence, a new tenant will eventually be taking over that space.

LoopNet Inc., which describes itself as the No. 1 commercial real estate service online, listed the building size as 4,225 square feet and the space available at 1,625 square feet, at a rental rate of $22 per square foot, per year.

The listing agent is . of Mineola.

Prior to Funtabulous Boutique, Clifford Michael Designer Outlet occupied the space at 84 Main Street.

In Monday’s Patch question, we want to hear what business you would like to see fill the vacancy? What store do you think would work in this location, one block from Second Street, near the .

Patch will regularly spotlight vacant commercial properties in effort to initiate a discussion within the community about alternative uses for these abandoned places. If you’d like to know more about a specific property, please also comment below.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
