Six Startups Present at Long Island Angel Network Meeting

Mineola-based LaunchPad Long Island hosts investor meeting for startups Wednesday night.

The Long Island Angel Network held it’s first investor meeting of the year at LaunchPad Long Island in Mineola Wednesday night, presenting six startup companies to a standing room-only crowd of more than 100 LIAN members and early-stage investors.

They will join LIAN’s first deal of the calendar year, an investment led by Bob Brill in GroupGifting, the new venture at the intersection of mobile computing, social media and big data by the team that started Invision.

A second deal, led by energy expert Robert Catell will enable ThermoLift, a new tenant in Stony Brook’s Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center, to prototype a potentially disruptive energy technology. LIAN Chair Michael Faltischek indicated that both deals, in the high six and low seven figures respectively, are accepting modest additional investments.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
