Vacant Sprint Store in Mineola

What would you like to see fill the vacant space left by the cellular phone retail store?

Written by Victoria Espinoza

The Sprint cellular retail store at 143 Jericho Turnpike in Mineola is currently a vacant space. Built in 1927, the retail space sits below four apartments and has a square footage of 3,827 feet. The building also includes a basement for storage.

As of 2007, Sellcom Wireless, another cell phone retail store, operated out of the space. However, by 2012 Sprint had taken over as the occupant. According to the Nassau County Assessor’s Department, the deed of the building was transferred in July 2007 for $ 1.42 million. However since then the fair market value of the entire building has gradually declined from $985,760 in January 2011 to $731,200 as of January 2013.
