Jan. 18: Snow and Honors for an Ex-Chief

Here are some of the events going on around Mineola.

Snow, snow, go away. Or in this case, slush. Chances for a four-day weekend are a bit slim as the Mineola area is coated with a fresh layer of snow that residents have to dig themselves out of once more and will have to wade through as rain turns it to slush. As residents clear their homes once again, the Mineola Patch is waiting with things for residents to see and do today.

Here's what else you need to know:

1. Mineola residents are definitely getting good use out of their shovels and snowblowers this year after waking up to a fresh coating of snow/ slush. The Mineola Patch reminds residents to shovel their driveways and sidewalks and please exercise .
