COLON CANCER AWARENESS DAY AT WINTHROP-UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL

Winthrop-University
Hospital will offer a free Colon Cancer Awareness Day educational
program for the community on Saturday, March 22, from 9 am to 12 pm.  The event will be held in the Dr. Martin
Spatz Conference Center, located in the lower level of the main Hospital at 259
First Street in Mineola.



Colon cancer is the third most
common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the United Sates.  However,
early detection and an awareness of risk factors and prevention can help in the
fight against this 

Speakers James
Grendell, MD, Alice Zervoudakis, MD and Monika Zak, MS, will share their
expertise with the audience on a variety of such as risk factors and
prevention, genetics, treatment options, current and future therapies,
nutrition, and more.  A question and
answer session will be included.
