Mineola Residents Urged to Avoid Halloween After Sandy

Mineola Fire Department to distribute popcorn balls door-to-door.

The Village of Mineola is asking parents to stay inside for Halloween 2012.

In an e-mail sent out from the village, parents are being “strongly urged not to take children trick-or-treating today because of the risks that may be posed by downed wires, trees and damaged property, and the absence of street lighting.”

Instead, the Village of Mineola announced that the Mineola Fire Department will go ahead with its annual Halloween Popcorn Ball distribution.
