Letter to the Editor: Support Mineola 2013 Memorial Day Parade
Mineola American Legion Commander Carl Marchese submitted the following letter.
Dear Friends and Neighbors:
Mineola Memorial Post 349, The American Legion, will host the Annual Mineola Memorial Day Parade and Ceremonies on Monday, May 27, 2013. All marchers will assemble at Wilson Park at 10:30 a.m. The parade will leave from there at 11 a.m. and proceed along the following route:
- West on Westbury Avenue
- North on Roslyn Road
- West on Jericho Turnpike
- South on Marcellus Road to Memorial Park
Donated memorial wreaths may be delivered to the village hall on Saturday, May 25 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. where a Legionnaire will be to accept them.
Monetary donations should be made payable to MINEOLA MEMORIAL POST 349 and sent to PO BOX 1631, MINEOLA, NY 11501. These contributions will be given to needy and disabled veterans.
In the event of inclement weather, a ceremony will be held in the Mineola Village Community Center, 155 Washington Avenue at 11 a.m. that day. Questionss hould be directed to myself at 516-741-4152 or 1st Vice Commander Tom Scardino at 516-294-0875.
Show your support for all deceased veterans and the countless POW’s inenemy Prison Camps by flying your flag that day. Please respond before May 15 2013.
