Jewel Tones: the Colorful Look for Fall

Just because summer is on its way out doesn’t mean fun clothing is too!

When you go shopping for back-to-school or a new fall wardrobe, keep an eye out for jewel tones.

A hot trend for fall, these rich colors are brightening store windows everywhere, and it’s time for them to add some life to your closet.

So, what are jewel tones?

They're distinctive colors inspired by gemstones, including but not limited to:

• Ruby red
• Emerald green
• Sapphire blue
• Topaz yellow
• Amethyst purple (a favorite of mine and Marc Jacobs)
• Turquoise

Top designers like Chanel, Gucci, Lanvin and Diane Von Furstenberg feature jewel-inspired bodywear in their current lines, but if you’re more of a fashionista on a budget, don’t fret! Plenty of affordable stores nearby are picking up on the trend.
