Joan Arlene Wilson, 77, School Secretary

Former Mineola resident passed away on Jan. 17, 2013.

Joan Arlene Wilson of Hackettstown, NJ, formerly of Garden City, NY, passed away Jan. 17, 2013 at the age of 77.

Born in Mineola, NY to Edward and Theresa Karsch, Wilson worked for Bell Atlantic after graduating from Sewanhaka High School. She took a leave to stay home with her four children and reentered the work force working for the Garden City Public School District, first in their administrative department and then at Straford Avenue School, as a secretary.

A career change led her to Verizon where she worked as an operator until her retirement. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed various outdoor activities.

She is survived by her beloved children Karen Stadtlander (Tom), William (Kathleen), Bonnie Martin (Bill), and Deborah Putnam (Matt), and 10 loving grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Edward, Robert and Dorothy Pedersn.

A wake was held at the Hugh M. Moriarty Funeral Home in Montclair, NJ on Sunday, January 20 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. followed by a prayer service. For directions and online condolences please visit www.moriartyfh.com.

I'm sorry Marie but there is no information about when the project will actually start. TheRead More developer had requested an extension from the board at a previous meeting and we do not know of a firm start date. When we do receive one, we will most certainly publish it.
