Nassau County honored one of it’s rising politicians last Thursday night at the – New York State – bestowing upon him the title of packed to the brim with onlookers and no shortage of celebration for Portugal Day, the country’s national day of pride celebrating it’s history and heritage.
As one of the county’s centers of the Portuguese population, Mineola has celebrated this part of the community to full extent, with the putting on a musical and dancing performance and even getting a few members of the audience – and local officials – to join in.
