Crime Blotter: Stolen Meds, Jewelry, Assault

Third Precinct police responded to the following calls April 17 – May 4 in Mineola.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department Third Precinct. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

April 21: prescription medication was reported stolen from the . The medication was concealed past all points of purchase.

April 22: a Movado diamond ring and assorted jewelry was reported stolen from a home on First Street.

May 4: Garden City Police arrested 25 year old Ricardo Ryan of Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn at 4:35 a.m. on a DWI charge, among other violations.

While at , Ryan allegedly refused to allow police to conduct a routine search prior to being placed in a holding cell, becoming violent. The defendant allegedly flailed his arms and legs while being searched.

A police officer sprained his knee during the incident. The officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Ryan is being charged with second degree assault and was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on May 5.
