New Hyde Park

A motor vehicle accident occurred on the Northern State Parkway in Lake Success at about 6:11 a.m. on February 23. The accident took out two lanes creating heavy delays.

A motor vehicle accident closed Hillside Avenue at Herricks Road on February 25 at 4:41 a.m. in the westbound lanes. All lanes were closed due to the accident and a pole down.

A motor vehicle accident occurred at 870 Carman Ave. at 12:31 a.m. on February 25. Police on scene reported multiple injuries and an entrapment.

Derogatory graffiti was found on the side of a Nassau County building on County Seat Drive on February 23 and was also found spray painted on the side of a vehicle parked at during the overnight hours on February 25.

Police arrested two Freeport men at 11:36 p.m. on February 26 on Clinton Road at Old Country Road who were sitting in a vehicle stopped in the wrong direction with the engine running. The driver was arrested for driving while impaired by drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation for having 34 open DMV license suspensions and impeding traffic. The passenger was arrested for felony possession of multiple bags of marijuana.

The occupant of an overturned car was aided by the Westbury Fire District at the Roosevelt Field Mall on Zeckendorf Boulevard and Ring Road East on March 1 at 1:24 p.m. A Nassau County Police Ambulance was called to handle one person while a hazmat unit contained the spill from the accident.

Between February 7 and 23, a home on Dekoven Street in Lakeview was burglarized.

Nassau County Police's Fifth Squad is investigating multiple incidents of criminal mischief to vehicles that occurred in West Hempstead between February 23 and 24. The suspect(s) smashed the windows of cars parked on Park Avenue, Arden Boulevard, Wilson Street, Maple Street, Jackson Avenue and School Street.
