Crimes Nearby: Domestic Violence, Forced Entry and Stolen Rims

The following arrest information was supplied by several local police departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate convictions.

During the day time hours on January 4, unknown persons entered a Willow Street residence, a Poplar Street residence and an Ash Street residence by apparently prying open a rear window at each residence. Rooms in each residence were ransacked and assorted jewelry was taken. The subject is described as a male, 6’, stocky build, wearing a black knit hat, black baggy pants, a three-quarter length beige coat and carrying a black bag.

Officers responded to Franklin Avenue in the vicinity of Seventh Street for a report of a domestic incident on January 7. Upon arrival, officers observed a male 49-year-old from Hempstead punching a female who was later determined to be his girlfriend. The female victim then fell to the ground, where the subject started kicking and punching her again. The subject was arrested and charged with harassment. The victim refused medical aid.

The located at 611 Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead was . The suspect is described as a black male, 40-50 years old, approximately 6-foot-2, wearing a gray puffy jacket, a red and white Yankees baseball cap and silver rimmed glasses.

Tire and rim thieves . The incident happened between 1 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. with thieves appearing to be targeting Nissan Maximas.
